Would you like to step out to the front and take the hotseat?
Tuesday 22 July saw a highly charged and very emotional farewell assembly in honour of three members of staff who will be very sorely missed:
Ms Deb Shedden wishes to devote all her energy to her sweet and gift shop 'Rock On' at Hayling Funland but hopes she will continue to see lots of the children there.
Ms Emma Carter is "going back to school" in order to pursue her acting career. The children are looking forward to seeing her on both stage and screen and wish her lots of luck.
Mrs Jenny Williams, one of the longest serving members of staff at Mill Rythe - 19 years, is taking early retirement. Quite possibly some of her earliest pupils are mums or dads themselves now!! As she is always popping into Mengham she hopes that everyone will say "hello Mrs Williams" and give her a cheery wave.
The children in each class had prepared a wonderful assortment of personalised farewell cards, gratefully received with both tears and laughter. |
Think of a world without Mrs Williams Think of Bug Class no Miss Carter living there Think of the staff no bleach in the staff room Think of us too, no marbles in the jar. We thank you Lord for all our lovely teachers We thank you Lord and praise your holy name.
Think of a world without Roger Red-hat A photocopier with no anger living there Think of us all no sweatshirts round our middles Think of us all our tummies feeling bare We thank you all for all those special moments We thank you all for all we've had to share
then verses to the tune of "she'll be coming round the mountain . . ."
1. She'll be sitting on a lounger in the sun (say "Mrs Mouse")
2. She'll be taking tea with Colin on the lawn (slurp cup of tea)
3. Oh, we'll see her in her tabard on the till (say "beep beep")
4. Oh we'll see her name in lights upon the town (say "ah" with hands on chest) |
